Supply string operations is the science of integrating the physical production environment with strategies to ensure satisfactory, consistent and timely source of raw materials, finished goods and services to meet up with the needs of customers. Source chain devices are built surrounding the decisions manufactured by producers and distributors of goods. A supply system is referred to as a sequence of operations that ensures that merchandise are offered from the level of origins to the level of use. It includes all the stages of the source process – from sourcing, production, vehicles and storage area.

There are four levels of the supply chain: finding, manufacturing, travelling and storage space. In supply chain, merchandise are extracted from suppliers and converted into completed products. When sourcing, it is the first stage of the supply process wherein suppliers accumulate all the necessary information about the clients and the suppliers they want to go with. After finding, manufacturers generate and carry the goods, even though distributors store items and deliver them to the finale users.

Every single stage in the supply cycle has its own specific functions and roles. The making stage is the central part of the system where companies make and produce items to be furnished to distributors. Good suppliers happen to be those who care for the quality expectations of the items they produce. On the other hand, distributors are people who will take delivery of the products to the end users. And lastly, safe-keeping and the distribution are the staying parts of the supply system in which manufacturers and distributors to store the goods intended for end-users and make sure they are be well protected once they are received.
